“Zabelov gives everything on stage — a single, uninterrupted piece of flowing, cinematic music that is captivating, exciting, and deeply moving.”
— Der Spiegel

OVERVIEW

When you hear Yegor Zabelov, disbelief comes first.
It sounds like an organ, an orchestra, even the sound of another universe — yet it all comes from a single accordion.

Zabelov is one of the most distinctive solo voices on today’s European experimental stage. His performances unfold as long-form immersive sound journeys, moving between minimalism, ambient trance, post-rave tension, and avant-garde improvisation. The scale is cinematic. The intensity is ritual-like.
Selected as a featured artist at WOMEX 2025, he represents a new generation of performers who transform one instrument into a multi-dimensional world of sound.
“He conjures saturated, haunting, intense soundscapes that tear up every preconception of what an accordion-led project should sound like.”
— Gigwise

ABOUT

Zabelov approaches the accordion not as a traditional instrument, but as a limitless sound generator. Through extreme control of pressure, airflow, rhythm, and resonance, he creates sound that feels larger than a soloist and stranger than a band.

What the listener hears may resemble a cathedral organ, a collapsing string orchestra, a choir of metallic breath — or something that seems to arrive from outside ordinary acoustic reality. Yet everything remains rooted in one performer, one instrument, one continuous act of creation.
Each concert unfolds as a physical and sonic ritual. The accordion breathes, rattles, whispers, and surges in massive waves. Sound, body, motion, and emotion dissolve into one experience.
“No one would imagine that making Aphex Twin-like ambient noises on an accordion was possible.”

Zabelov has built a strong curator-led presence across Europe’s most forward-thinking festivals and showcases. His path runs through Eurosonic Noorderslag, the legendary Moers Festival, Les Nuits Botanique, Europavox, Rudolstadt Festival, Malmö Sommarscen, Fusion, Pop-Kultur, the Vienna Accordion Festival, MENT,

Tallinn Music Week, Ethno Port, Haldern Pop, Norpas, and others — a circuit defined by curiosity, risk, and artistic ambition.
His work is also recognized at the highest cultural level, including the Gaude Polonia Scholarship (Minister of Culture of Poland), a Cultural Scholarship from the City of Gdańsk, and the Sergei Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award (XI Edition) for experimental music.

NOW BOOKING — NORTH AMERICA

Following years of sustained European touring and his upcoming WOMEX 2025 appearance, Yegor Zabelov is now booking his first full North American tour.
The performance unfolds as a 45–75 minute continuous arc of sound. What the audience hears feels orchestral and other-worldly, yet the source remains visually simple: a single performer shaping a vast, shifting sound universe in real time.

The experience moves between stillness and density, trance and rupture — meditative, physical, overwhelming, and intimate at once.
“The room drops into complete silence — then into total awe.”
